Purpose:
|
Spontaneous closure of macular hole is well-known. I report two cases of spontaneous macular hole closure.
|
|
Methods:
|
The cases are presented on the basis of an observational case report.
|
|
Results:
|
A 74 years old female with a stage 2 idiopathic macular hole and a 26 years old male with a traumatic macular hole were observed for a period of 8 weeks. In both patients macular hole closed spontaneously, confirmed by optical coherence tomography.
|
|
Conclusion:
|
Spontaneous macular hole clsure is not uncommon specially in young age, traumatic macular hole, small size of macular hole and absence of posterior vitreous detachment. So macular hole surgery for macular holes may be delayed in such cases.
