our aim is to evaluate the opinions of ophthalmologist and optopetrist regarding the age of initiation and termination, indication, modalities and maintenance treatment of amblyopia in guilan

this prospective study was done in 30 ophthalmologist and 20 optometrist .The questionnaire prepared with multiple items such as age, number of patients ,initiation age of treatment, termination age, near or far activities, indication of glasses prescription ,atropine penalization ,maintenance and treatment over 10y. The results evaluate statistically with SPSS 21.

Thirty ophthalmologists and twenty optometrist enrolled into study The first step of treatment in refractive amblyopia related to patient evaluation and in strabismus amblyopia was patch and glasses. The initiation age of treatment was 1y.The 53% of subjects treat over 10y.the 51% of participate suggest near or far activity accompany with amblyopia treatment .the average time of patching was 4-6h.the 48% of subjects used maintenance treatment with atropine eye drop weekly or one hour patch.In isometropic amblyopia ,the most of subjects treat hyperopia over +6 ,myopia over -5 and astigmatism over 3 diopter in patients under1y, 56% mange hyperopia over+ 5,70% treat myopia over -4 and astigmatism over 2 dipter in 1-2y.66% treat hyperopia over +4,76% treat myopia over-4 and astigmatism over2 diopter in patients over 2y.In anisometropic amblyopia, most of participant(72.9%) treat over+ 2.5 in hyperopia,(48.9%) -3 in myopia and(53.2%) 2 diopter in astigmatism in patient under1y.In patients with 1-3y,58% treat hyperopia over+1.5,52% mange myopia over -3 and astigmatism over2 diopter.In patients 3-4y,the only difference is treatment of astigmatism over1.5 dipter.In patients over 4y,the 43.8% treat hyperopia over+1,80% manage myopia over -2 and 60% treat astigmatism over1 diopter.

this study showed that most of opinion of participates like the AAO guideline for prescription of glasses and there is not significant discrepancy between optometris and ophthalmologist
