Purpose:
To show the benefit of multimodal imaging in photic retinopathy
Methods:
Herein we report a 30-year-old patient who presented with acute visual scotoma and metamorphopsia in his left eye after a night party with no past ocular history or medication usage.
Results:
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) showed disruption of the external limiting membrane (ELM), ellipsoid zone and interdigitation zone, and fluorescein angiography documented late-phase leakage. OCT-Angiography showed a localized involvement in the choroidal layer, demonstrating deep penetration of laser beams.
Conclusion:
Photic retinopathy could involve choriocapillaris other than the retina. This case shows the importance of multimodal imaging techniques as diagnostic and prognostic measurements in photic retinopathy.
