Purpose:

Exercise and physical activity have always been mentioned as a tool for health and prevention of diseases, but less research has been done to evaluate the effect of exercise training on eye health. In this study, we reviewed the research that examined the effects of different exercises on the eye and tried to draw a perspective on future studies.

Methods:

We collected articles through search on Google in the Advanced Search section.

Results:

Most studies in this field have examined the effects of different visual exercises that make the eye active. For example, the desired effect of practice with pencil at home and practice with a prism in the office has been reported in reducing symptoms of convergence failure. Or the desired effect of orthoptic warfare in middle-aged patients with some bipolar vision abnormalities. The positive effect of eye exercise has always been stated, less studies have looked at the effect of exercise as the whole body's activity on the eye. Recently, Nazarifar et al. (1396) investigated the effects of body balance exercises on eye coordination and the effect of these exercises.

Conclusion:

One of the major causes of vision loss is diabetes, which is directly linked to an unhealthy diet and a lifestyle without mobility. In people with diabetes, gradually the vision strength decreases. Today, the role of exercise in preventing and treatment diabetes type two has been proven. However, controlled studies on the effect of whole body exercise on eye health have not been conducted in the country until now, and given the favorable effects of aerobic exercises on health (improvement of blood circulation, neurological factors and levels of blood parameters, hormone, immunological, etc.), It is suggested to study the effect of this type of exercise on eye pressure and overall eye health.
