Purpose:
|
To report a case of microphthalmia with colobomatous cyst in right eye and iris and chorioretinal coloboma in left eye
|
|
Methods:
|
A one day old boy referred to our clinic because of concerning
about small right eye. His parents weren’t relative, and both of
them were healthy . The pregnancy and delivery was uncomplicated.

Results:
|
Ocular examination showed the microphthalmous with bluish
subconjunctival mass in the right eye. The mass was adjusted to
limbus that was extended to Inferior and nasal of the globe. The cornea of
right eye was 5mm diameter with disorganized anterior
segment stracture. The fellow eye examination demonstrated 10mm
clear cornea with iris and the chorioretinal coloboma. The optic
disc was normal. The anterior – posterior diameter of left eye was
15mm but in the right eye was not detectable.

Conclusion:
|
Interesting point of this case was occurrence of microphthalmia
With large anteriorly cyst in one eye and coloboma in the other eye
simultaneously that this condition was rare.
