Purpose:
|
To measure the effect of pregnancy on choroidal thickness in normal pregnant women
|

Methods:
|
In this comparative longitudinal study, Choroidal thickness measured during each Trimester and 3 Months following Delivery in 23 healthy pregnant women. This measurement was performed using Enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT).

Results:
|
The thickness of choroid increased significantly in the Second and third trimester of pregnancy in comparison with first trimester but it decreased 3 months postpartum to the less than first trimester thickness in the most measured choroidal areas.(P=0.03)
|

Conclusion:
|
Our study shows that the thickness of choroid increased significantly during pregnancy. However, the thickness decreases 3 months following delivery to the level less than the pregnancy period
|
