Purpose:
|
To report a case report of inadvertent inferior oblique extirpation during cosmetic orbital decompression.
|
Methods:
|
A 38-year-old female with thyroid eye disease underwent cosmetic right orbital decompression during which inadvertent inferior oblique extirpation was noticed.
|
Results:
|
The IO muscle was repaired on the same session with no postoperative diplopia at the last follow up.
|
Conclusion:
|
Inferior oblique muscle injury should be considered during trans eyelid orbital decompression.
