Purpose:
To report a case of bilateral serpinginous choroiditis with early unilateral choroidal neovascularization( CNV )
Methods:
A 37 year-old female with history of previous bevacizumab injection for the right eye choroidal neovascularization, referred for the contralateral eye decreased viosion. more detailed evaluations revealed serpinginous choroiditis.
Results:
At the presentation the visual acuity was finger counting in the right eye, and 20/200 in the left eye. Fundus examinations and FAG revealed bilaterally subtle peripapillary pseudopode-like choroiditis patches. In the right eye center-involving CNV was present too. She was treated with steroid, which improved the vision to 20/60 in the left eye. The right vision did not improve significantly, due to the CNV, but the choroididtis patches healed much.
Conclusion:
Serpinginous choroiditis shall be considered while CNV is seen in an otherwise young patient, and especially in females.
